the difference is why

the second post for the new year…. the weather was crazy… from storm to sun within minutes… I was changing my shutter time a lot … from 1/30s to 1/2000s… but the real surprise for me was the model… I could hardly believe how pretty she was! I found her portfolio on modelmayhem when doing my “half-yearly- search” for new and interesting models in Belgium… I thought she was very pretty and contacted her… she was so much more pretty in real life – I am not sure I managed to capture it properly… 🙂

…did I mention before how gorgeous light reflects on dark skin?

Nikon FM3A  / Kodak Tri-x
Contax 645 / Kodak Portra 400 … and some Tri-X

This is my first comment on your site. I’ve been following your work for a couple of months now. I’m not a profesional photographer, rader an enthusiast with a bunch of film cameras. Also, I sense that digital is not capturing the vibes and the beauty of natural things like the film. My feelings on this set is not very favorable. I think its your worse set. Something is missing… you know that emotion between the photographer and the subject. I think you tried different angles that are now very know by general public. Regards…

Images 26 and 30 are gorgeous. The rest are wonderful too but these 2 stand out for the comp and light. Already looking forward to next post:-)

Nice set Jan. I really liked the wider shots showing off the model in her environment. Well done,

    LG Andreas

    Hi,

You know… you play in a league where I will never be. But I still think you should know what I was thinking when looking at this set. I follow you already for a long time. I did some comments on my favorite sets. And I agree with Adrian. This set is the worst set on your page (at least in my opinion). The previous set “broken drum” was very interesting. Each picture captured the visitor…for a few seconds…. but this set is more like a click through and stopping to click after a few…clicks.

    Hey,

Lovely set of images once again. I was just wondering which lenses you use with your Contax 645?

    Beautiful stuff

    Thanks
