Nakriko

First photo session after coming back from the highly inspiring Traveling Light. I was really eager to shoot and good that Nakriko from Moscow was “in town”. I dusted off my Contax 645, which was still packed away after it had some weird issue with the lens. I sort of managed to fix it by myself, however, I think the camera could use a good service! Stephanie recharged the batteries of her Sony A7 and filmed the shoot (see the film and friends video at the end of this post!) I tried to introduce a little aspect of time and place, show some surroundings, where its happening. Will work on that more in the future – to add another dimension.

Black and whites are Tri-x or Tmax shot mainly on Contax 645 (some on Mamiya RZ67 and some on Hasselblad 501cm)
Colour is Portra 400 and my friends at Carmencita Film Lab  really nailed these scans – the light was often risky, very high contrast and I was struggling at times scanning the black and white, but what they sent me in terms of colour really impressed me! (Thanks guys!!)

Dear Jan, thanks for very nice photos, usual! Do you use internal exposure meter in Contax or any other way to determine the exposure?

Fantastic work here. I really love the inclusion of the landscapes at the beginning of this gallery to describe the place. Lovely mixture of colour and black and white too. Great combo of soft and edgy.
