First post for 2017 – hope you all  had a good start into the new year! I have been shooting a little already this year, but want to start with a shoot from end of last year.

Perrine and her boyfriend drove a very long way from France to Brussels – and whenever someone takes such an effort, I feel obliged to deliver…. unfortunately after 7-9 pictures with the Mamiya RZ67 the battery died and I had no replacement…too far and not enough time to get a replacement from home….  I was thinking before the shoot that maybe I should take a backup medium format camera, but did not. So all I had left was my Nikon FE2, a 35mm lens and black and white film. …and surprisingly – it was liberating to be limited, to not have to think about different cameras, which one to use, change back and forth, but fully concentrate on the scene, the fleeting expressions and poses. At the end Stephanie managed to bring me a replacement battery, so I could get at least some more colour medium format shots, but I would have been content with only the 35mm bw pictures…

colour was processed by carmencita film lab, I believe it was Portra 400
black and white by myself – TMAX 400

I must say it was hard to find your website in search results.
You write great posts but you should rank your website
higher in search engines. If you don’t know how to do it search on youtube: how to rank a website Marcel’s way

Inspiring pics, great! When I do a portrait shooting I always feel more comfortable with my 35mm camera, cause I´m faster with the focus than with my Hasselblad… but mostly I bring both, at least to have a back up 😉 .
